Graduation requirements include 4 years of Language Arts, 4 years of Mathematics, 4 years of Social Studies, 3 years of Science, and 4 years of Spanish.
Throughout their four years of high school, students must also take Religion, along with one course in Philosophy, Sociology, Economics, and Nicaraguan Government. St. Augustine provides Elective, Honors, and Advanced Placement courses in Mathematics, English Literature, Spanish Literature, Biology, Calculus, and European History, the Arts, among others. The school has an impressive AP track record; the majority of our students take AP courses, and AP students achieve passing test scores, making them eligible to receive college credit.
Students in 7th grade and above may study French as a third language. The school employs one full-time teacher to support our Foreign Language Program and guides students from 7th-grade French to the AP French Language and Culture course.
In Secondary School, Community Time is a daily period where students delve into their passions through service and interest clubs, independent study, or office hours with teachers. Students also attend their weekly grade masses and Advisory Groups during these times. These innovative changes, based on extensive research and workshops, demonstrate our commitment to student growth and well-being. We believe that by putting students at the center of their education, we can empower them to become lifelong learners and leaders.
